Notes

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier originates from dogs bred to fight, but today they are said to be unusually affectionate, especially among children. The FCI standard says 'Traditionally of indomitable courage and tenacity. Highly intelligent and affectionate especially with children. Bold, fearless and totally reliable', which fits the Staffie well. It is one of the most popular terriers in British shows, and is often entered in high numbers.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier should be a compact, powerful dog with a balanced temperament. The head is short, broad and powerful, with clearly marked stop and short muzzle. The ears are typical rose-ears. The neck is rather short an muscular. The body is compact with straight topline and deep chest. The boning should be rather heavy, with well angulated legs. The tail is of medium length and set low. The coat is short and smooth.
