Markings

Urajiro markings may be - white, ivory or cream. These swatches serve as a guide, and urajiro markings may take any colour within the range shown; please keep this in mind, especially when using palettes. Urajiro markings are split into required markings and optional markings, as detailed below.

Required Markings

Optional Markings

Urajiro markings sit above tan point markings, but below masking and white spotting. When combined with other coat patterns, urajiro markings may become partially or completely obscured. UKC applies a 'benefit of the doubt' philosophy when it comes to such cases - for example, if a dog has a predominantly white chest, the urajiro markings on the chest/shoulders can be missing without fault, as we assume in those dogz that those points are present and just hidden by the white.

Urajiro combined with other patterns

Urajiro can appear on any pattern, but it only affects red/golden/cream, not black/blue/liver/isabella, so in for instance a brindle dog with urajiro, the stripes on the urajiro-affected areas will still be solid black, while the red has been bleached. Likewise, on for instance a tan point, it would only affect areas that would normally be tan, not the black areas. Below are some examples of urajiro combined with other coat patterns
