Conformation

Conformation shows are a work-in-progress at UKC. We are looking for Stewards to help us format and upload breed standards, as well as knowledgable judges. If you loved PKC and want to see it brought to life, we would love to have you on our team!

This scheme is directly inspired by the original Petz Kennel Club showing scheme, and aims to be it's spiritual successor. Much of this information will be directly quoted from PKC.

There are 3 rings a pet may by judged in. This method is the same for Conformation and Grand Conformation.

Breed Ring

Each breed is judged separately. The best petz are awarded and may or may not earn points.

# of Entries Placements
1–2 PICK
3–4 HM
5–9 BOB, BOS
10–19 BOB, BOS + AOM
20–29 BOB, BOS + 2 AOMs
30–39 BOB, BOS + 3 AOMs (and so on)

BOS is only awarded if there are at least 2 petz that are the opposite sex of the BOB winner.

The top pet of each breed (BOB or HM/PICK if less than 5 entries) moves on to compete in the next ring.

Group Ring

The top pet of each Breed Ring now competes for Group placements. Dog groups are awarded four placements, G1-G4. Catz groups (which have less breeds) are awarded 2 placements, G1 and G2.

Special Note: If a pet places PICK in the Breed Ring and then places G2, G3 or G4 in the Group Ring, the PICK placement is upgraded to HM as congratulations for placing. This means every pet that achieves a Group placement gets at least 1 point from the Breed Ring.

G1 from each group moves on to compete in the next ring.

Winners' Circle

The 7 G1 Dogz compete for 7 WC placements: BIS, BW, RW, W1, W2, W3 and W4.

The 6 G1 Dogz compete for 6 WC placements: BIS, BW, RW, W1, W2 and W3.

Notes

Conformation is extremely competitive - many petz that reach Champion will never place above BOB. A Group placement is considered pretty great and a WC placement is considered excellent.
